Thanks to all contributor for VAG OBD Helper reviews, generally speaking, it’s working.
Interesting I had a 2006 audi I don’t remember the model that i couldn’t connect to with my VVDI2 for anything. it’s why i bought the obd helper.
Golf 7 2013 Johnson Controls, get immo data from server OK ! (VVDI make key)
vw polo 6R 2013 Johson control, get immo data from server OK ! (VVDI make key)
Question:
What do you mean from server how did you read from server!!!
Answer:
The obd helper reads partial immo data that can be translated server side into immo data we can use to make dealer keys. the partial immo data has to be uploaded and the new data downloaded from xhorse with an active internet connection.
Question:
Also pulled immo data and prepared a Johnson Controls golf 7 – was unable to learn the key with AVDI however, were you sucessful?
Answer: Use vvdi2,lonsdor or appro

I can confirm the following all keys lost done by obd with vag helper and avdi:
2017 skoda citigo
2013 audi a1 nec cluster
2010 skoda octavia
2014 audi A4 with locked BCM2
2016 Tiguan
2013 skoda octavia vag helper did the job to get the CS and pin but AVDI makes non starting car. Reason: avdi cannot do Johnson controls MQB instrument. It will be stuck in learning mode.
Question:
What about the fails of this tool? how many fails have you had?
This tool costs £100.
1 token £4
Is too cheap to do such a good job!
This is my opinion, that’s why I still don’t own it!
Answer:
I had no fails until now with Vag Helper.
The purpose of tool is to extract the CS an pincode. I receive a txt file every time with CS, pincode and VIN.
Takes 1 – 5 minutes….need good internet connection.
For 100 quid I think vag helper is amazing…..at least for now.
I will try from now on VAG 2009+ no more removing cluster and only vag helper.
For sure I Will let you know if i have any fail.
I am pretty sure this obd helper cable will calculate immo and pin on any MQB.
Key learning and preparing is a different question and it depends on the tools you have.
Its too cheap – I agree with you and I still can’t believe it but as long as it works I would rather take it
I mean 2017 citigo
picked, cut the blade,
prepare and learn the key – vag helper + avdi immo4/5 function
learn remote – x100 tool
cash in and run to the next job
20 MINUTES !!!!!!! and thats because the guy coulnt find his card…..
It’s amazing how you invest hundreds or thousands into the tools and one day something like this shows on the market….
But you need to go with the flow
Analysis: it s magneti marelli dash so no need working key avdi done without vag helper fvdi same.

Didn’t work on AKL Audi A3 2009.
Works on most other VAG I tried.

Question:
I am thinking of buying vvdi2 and vag obd helper, instead of updating my avdi bcm2 function, can anyone (who has done a Audi bcm2 lost key via obd)), confirm that vvdi2 can do it safely via obd? obviously the helper can increase this chance? maybe up to the version where bcm2 has an eeprom?
