Howto bench EVO X ECU using Tactrix Openport 2.0 ECUFlash Tool

Vehicle: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X

Things you will need: 

Brick (aka ECU)

Tactrix Openport 2.0 ECU Flasher

Power Supply

Wire Cutters

Crimpers

Sldering Iron (optional)

Heat Shrink Gun or Small Lighter (optional)

Few feet of 20-24 gauge wire (preferably different colors, I recommend 24 gauge)

0.1″ female connectors (Need at LEAST 15)

Heat shrink tubing or electrical tape

  1. Use the following diagrams for the creating the wires in the following steps.
  2. Create a group of wires to power the ECU
  3. ECU Pins

  • 71 -> GROUND
  • 82 -> +12V
  • 92 -> +12V
  • -> +12V
  1. Create a group of wires to power the ODBII
  2. OBDII Pins:
  • 4 -> GROUND
  • 5 -> GROUND
  • 16 -> +12V
  1. Create a group of wires to connect the ECU to OBDII
  2. ECU to OBDII Pins:
  • ECU 80 -> OBD 7
  • ECU 90 -> OBD 6
  • ECU 91 -> OBD 14
  • ECU 103 -> OBD 12

  1. Connect the wires to the appropriate pins

  1. Hook it up to a 12V Power Supply.
  2. Choose “Alternate flash method” in Tacho OpenportECUFlash option

  • 14.Flash your Last Known Good ROM – this will take at least a minute.
  1. tacho-openport-10Now deselect “Alternate flash method” in ECUFlash options.

  3. Flash your “Last Known Good ROM” AGAIN (This will configure the ECU properly)

  5. Stick the ECU back in the car – it should work properly.
